Every Bluebird caregiver is hired locally, trained on a tenured team, and chosen because they treat this work as a calling.

With a career spanning over 37 years in the healthcare industry, Deanee Mauser serves as the Executive Director of Bluebird Hospice. Her extensive professional journey began as a nursing assistant, where she developed a foundational commitment to patient-centered care while working her way through nursing school.
Deanee has practiced in various nursing disciplines, yet her true professional passion has always been rooted in hospice care. For more than 27 years, she has dedicated herself to this field, driven by a mission to provide education, compassion, and dignity to patients and their families during the end-of-life journey. Her approach focuses on ensuring that families can spend meaningful, quality time together when it matters most.
A highly credentialed leader, Deanee holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Oakland University and a Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. Originally considering a career as a physician, she ultimately chose nursing to ensure she could maintain a high level of direct, hands-on interaction with her patients.
Beyond her executive responsibilities, Deanee is a devoted wife and the mother of five children. She is a proponent of a healthy work-life balance and enjoys staying active through swimming, boating, reading, yoga, and skiing. Whether she is navigating complex clinical operations or spending time with her family, Deanee remains committed to a life of service and advocacy for those in need.
With a career in healthcare spanning 24 years, Hallie Grech has built a reputation for clinical excellence and deep-rooted patient advocacy. Her journey in the medical field began at the foundational level as a phlebotomist, a role that instilled in her the importance of precision, communication, and a patient-first mentality from the very start.
Throughout her tenure as a Registered Nurse, Hallie has cultivated extensive expertise in high-acuity environments, including interventional cardiology and step-down ICU. While these fast-paced settings honed her technical skills and critical thinking, it was in hospice care that she discovered her true vocational calling. Hallie is deeply passionate about providing compassionate end-of-life care, focusing on dignity, comfort, and supporting families through their most challenging transitions.
Hallie's clinical practice is supported by a robust academic background, holding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oakland University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Kaplan University.
When she is not dedicated to her patients, Hallie is a proud mother of two daughters. Much of her time outside of work is spent as a "dance mom," cheering them on through the rigorous and exciting world of competitive dance.
An enthusiast of an active lifestyle, Hallie finds balance through boxing and enjoys the serenity of the water while boating. Above all, she cherishes the time spent making memories with her family and friends, believing that strong personal connections are the heart of a well-lived life.
Eric Ebeling believes some of life's most meaningful moments happen when simply being present with another person. As chaplain at Bluebird Hospice, he considers it a privilege to walk alongside patients and families by offering compassionate spiritual care, a listening ear, encouragement, and hope during life's final journey. When the occasion calls for it, you'll often hear Eric singing a favorite hymn with patients, believing music brings comfort and peace.
An ordained minister with more than 30 years of ministry experience, Eric has served churches, schools, and communities in both the United States and Thailand. As Campus Chaplain at Chiang Rai International Christian School, he provided pastoral care and spiritual leadership to an international community representing more than 20 countries. A former fifth-grade teacher and current elementary Sunday school teacher at Auburn Hills Christian Center, Eric has a special love for children and for helping people of all ages grow in faith. He also serves as President of the Rochester Christian University Foundation Board of Directors, supporting the next generation.
Outside of hospice, Eric remains active in his church through GriefShare, prayer and support groups, and visitation with shut-ins. Nearly every Tuesday evening, you'll find him at Kensington Church's Celebrate Recovery community, where he enjoys encouraging others toward hope and healing.
Eric also serves the community as an Associate Real Estate Broker after many years as a real estate appraiser, finding joy in helping people navigate life's significant transitions with compassion and care. He attended Abilene Christian University and is the proud father of five adult children, grandfather to one energetic grandson, and caretaker of a 100-plus-year-old home that he affectionately refers to as his "never-ending project."
Hospice is delivered by a coordinated team — each role bringing a different kind of care to the same family. Here are the disciplines you'll meet.
The clinical anchor of your loved one's care. RNs coordinate the care plan, manage symptoms and medications, and are your first call when something changes.
The steady presence. Bathing, grooming, light personal care, and the small comforts that carry the most weight at end of life.
Family counseling, advance directives, paperwork, benefits questions, and the practical scaffolding around a hospice stay.
Interfaith spiritual care for any tradition, any path, or no tradition at all. Presence, prayer, conversation, ritual — whatever your family wants, on whatever schedule fits.
Continued grief support for the family for 13 months after a loss. Phone calls, mailings, support groups, and one-on-one counseling, on the family's timeline.
Trained Bluebird volunteers give from the heart. Companionship visits, reading aloud, vigil presence, and small acts of help.
Hospice work asks a lot of the people doing it. Our current team has over 75 years of combined hospice experience and it increases as we grow.
All of Bluebird Hospice team members live in or near the communities we serve. No traveling contractors. No commuting in from another county. The person at your door tomorrow lives in your county today.
Federal background checks, license verification, drug screening, drive-record review, and at least two professional references. Every team member, every time.
Every new team member completes a comprehensive orientation and is prepared every time they walk into your home. Clinical leadership is also available 24/7.
We pay for continuing education, hospice and palliative certifications, and bereavement training. The team keeps growing — long after they've already mastered the job.
Trained Bluebird volunteers give from the heart. They sit with patients so spouses can rest. They read aloud. They run errands. They show up.
